Pasquale Questions Continued Use of Keystone Exams
PA Auditor General Eugene Pasquale sees no reason to keep administering Keystone Exams. This educator agrees.
DePasquale is proposing that schools use the SAT or ACT in lieu of Keystone Exams, which he says will cost nearly $100 million if the current contract is retained through 2021.
I'm not opposed to standardized tests, if the tests are well-designed, and if good curricula aren't upended in efforts to "teach to the test." Based on these criteria, Keystone Exams should have been scrapped the moment the federal government lifted the requirement to administer them.
